After more than ten years of experience in implementing EU projects, Business Start-Up Center Bar has started, for the first time as a project partner, the implementation of the international project GreenSET, with a total value of 2.44 million euros. The project was financed through the Interreg Euro-MED 2021–2027 program from the European Fund for Regional Development, and will last 33 months.
The project was officially launched with a meeting of partners held on May 20 and 21, 2025 in Venice. Its main goal is to help small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in tourism throughout the Mediterranean to better use existing resources by creating new services, generate additional sources of income and more easily transition to sustainable and circular business models.
Through the project, a service innovation methodology is developed that enables entrepreneurs to recognize and implement specific steps in creating competitive, cost-effective and environmentally friendly tourist services. In addition, manuals, educational programs and materials are being developed to train and certify local entrepreneurial support institutions for providing professional support to the tourism sector. Also, a collection of examples of good practice and business models based on the principles of the circular economy will be compiled.
Ten partners from nine Mediterranean countries - France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Albania, Montenegro and Croatia - are involved in the project, which creates a strong network of knowledge, experience and cooperation in the region.
During the initial meeting, common goals and plans for further activities were agreed upon, and all those interested can follow news and opportunities for involvement via the website www.bscbar.org.
