Public Call for mentoring services in 2018

Public call for providing mentoring services carried out by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with
business centers / units of local self-government, is intended for micro, small and medium enterprises
and entrepreneurs in order to support uninterrupted development and reduce the number of unsuccessful
economic entities. The mentoring process takes place according to the established mentoring plan,
developed in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The mentoring service will partner a professional mentor to the business to dedicate a given number of hours to the business (25 hours for newly established companies and 50 hours for existing companies). The founder and/ or assigned employee will be present with the mentor for no less than 70% of that time. 

The founder and / or the responsible person of the business entity and the mentor will jointly study the current
business, analyze the current situation, diagnose the reasons for the current problems or disruptions for
further development, look at the growth potentials, and on the basis of the stated condition, the mentor
and the mentoring service users will prepare a development plan.

Mentoring offers the following services:

A diagnostics analysis of the enterprise with the entrepreneur
Assistance in preparation of development activities/plans and their implementation, in order to achieve the best possible business results.
Counseling and coordination of activities aimed at accessing funds, government business support programs, new technologies, consulting services, etc.
Assistance in finding business partners and establishing business cooperation.

Who are mentors?

The mentors are qualified persons with a certificate they successfully earned through completing mentoring trainings organized by certified mentors of the Development Agency of Serbia and JICA consultants in the field of enterprise diagnostics, financial management, marketing, business plan writing, production management, business communication and human resource development.

The mentoring service is free for a selected 30 users from the territory of the municipalities: Podgorica, Cetinje, Bar, Danilovgrad, Nikšić, Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Berane, Rožaje, Kotor and Tivat.  

Interested candidates can submit applications in two categories:

  • Newly-established companies- not older than 3 years from the date of publication in Public Invitation
  • Existing business entities- registered before April 2015. 

CONDITIONS OF THE PUBLIC INVITATION

  • The right to participate in the Public Invitation is for registered micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs in accordance with the Companies Act ('Official Gazette of the Republic of Montenegro,' no. 40/11) Which:
  • Have their headquarters in the territory of Podgorica, Cetinje, Bar, Danilovgrad, Nikšić, Mojkovac, Bijelo, Polje, Pljevlja, Berane, Rožaje, Kotor and TIvat.
  • Operate 100% privately owned
  • Did not have losses in the last year of business (for businesses that were registered before April 2015)
  • Do not perform activities within the industry of steel, coal and synthetic fibers; shipbuilding, production of coke and refined petroleum products; production of tobacco products; production and sale of military equipment or services; participation in projects that violate internationally recognized rights of workers including safety at work, rules and procedures in Montenegro; any activity considered unlawful or harmful to ht environment and dangerous to human health; gambling, alcoholic beverages (except the production of wine and fruit brandy); medicines in the part of distribution; banking and insurance; trade; construction (in the part of construction of finished housing-business units); catering facilities exclusively providing drinking services; publishing activities and other occasional issues, production, and broadcasting activities of radio and television programs; activity of news agencies; purchase of shares in other companies, shares and other securities; gas stations; car dealerships; trade in currencies and securities; immoral and illegal activities.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

Documentation that must be submitted when applying to the Public Call:

For newly established business entities, not older than 3 years from the date of publication in Public Call:

  • 1. Detailed completed, signed and certified application form.
  • 2. Registration decision from CRPS
  • 3. Set of Final Account Forms of 2016 and 2017 (balance sheet, income statement, gross balance, statistical annex). Note- this does not apply to business entities registered in the second half of 2017. 

For businesses that registered before April 2015

  • 1. A detailed, signed and certified application form
  • 2. CRPS Registration Decision
  • 3. Set of Final Account Forms for 2016 and 2017 (balance sheet, income statement, gross balance, statistical annex).

The Ministry of Economy reserves the right to verify the authenticity of the submitted documentation, as well as to request additional documentation from the applicant, but only for fully filed applications.
