On Monday and Tuesday, December 2–3, 2024, a two-day panel “Developing Gender-Sensitive Policies” was held at BSC Bar. The event gathered representatives from local secretariats and institutions, NGOs, company directors, managers, and other stakeholders involved or interested in the creation of local policies across various sectors.
The panel was led by Branka Vlahović, an expert in gender equality and project consultant. She guided participants through discussions on gender-sensitive policies, focusing on how to mainstream gender in local plans and what must be achieved for plans to be truly gender-responsive.
Special attention was given to gender-responsive budgeting and monitoring the implementation of gender-sensitive policies using specific indicators.
Throughout the panel, the importance of shifting perspectives and adopting a gender-sensitive approach at the local government level was emphasized as essential for meaningful change.
The panel was organized as part of the project “Leadership Skills Development and Inclusive Governance”, in cooperation with the NGO Ženska akcija, and supported by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
